  Get-together on Saturday night and study the Watchtower!

  did anyone actually enjoy doing that?

  some friends would say "hey, we're having a get together" and i would say sure we'll be there, then they'd say "oh, be sure and bring your watchtower!

  Hi Blondie! Were those rules ever posted anywhere, or were they just rules for your own specific hall? Our hall must have been *really* liberal, because all the teenagers had swim parties where we learned the "Hustle", swam, ate, and went skating, or whatever. Every weekend, almost. We also had an informal study on Wednesday nights for the teenagers, conducted over by a young brother barely older than we were (19). Of course, there was always adults around, and it was all very innocent, but our teenagers were together almost every weekend, study or not! It was kind of a cool hall, as halls go. I left in '81, so not sure how it changed after that.

  So..

  What's wrong with a red neck? My great Grandfather came to this country at the behest of THIS COUNTRY. He homesteaded. He was promised 160 acres as long as he could bring it to a crop. He did it. He got a red neck from being in the sun all the time, and wearing his hat. He wasn't any more stupid than the next guy, and he didn't pretend he was any smarter. He worked in the sun from sunup til sundown to provide his wife and children with food. His neck became red cuz his head was always down, to the ground, to provide. What's wrong with someone having a red neck? It only indicates, to me, a person that is hard working to get their wife and children some money and food. Nothing wrong with that.

  The way I feel about it now: no matter HOWMUCH therapy he gets; no matter how much support he gets: he is still going to offend again. This sickness can't be changed. It's part of his hard wiring. We can continue to spend billions of dollars to rehabilitate them..but I guess it comes down to one thing, really: Should our child molestors, after having spent their time in prison, be considered rehabilitated? You have to consider: MOST child molestors will spend only a few years in prison then they'll regain a life and reoffend again. The VICTIMS, however, will be subjected for the rest of their lives to a life full of shame, guilt, etc. Not a fair trade. Lock em all up and throw away the key.

  My ideal man would be a handsome, built, self-sufficient and decisive man. He'd be a cowboy, since obviously I live in the country, and admire and respect men that live on, and off the land. He'd be a country boy that'd respect my contribution, respect and knowledge, and care for the land as much as I do. He'd be a family man with integrity, honesty, and compassion. He'd be strong in times of trouble, and sensitive in times of need. He'd have to play a dual role since I'd want him to be both sensitive and strong at the same time.. just like me. He'd be a hard worker, just as I am.. and not afraid.

  Woops.... I already married my ideal man.. cept he ain't a cowboy. But just put a hat and jeans and boots on him.. and I'm off in lalaland... <grin>

  isn't it easy to spot jw's?

  not only by the way they dress, but also by the way they crowd up cars.. just about every time i see 4 or more people in a car, especially when driving slowly, i know they are jehovah witnesses.. what other traits do they alone have?

  warning a sister with children that she's dating a pedophile

  i met an ex je that was da'ed for telling a sister that the man she was dating was convicted in sacramento ca for child molestation about ten yearss prior.

  she use to live in the same city and had cut the article out of the paper because this man was a jw.

  his first wife divorced him & he went to prison.

  if i wrote to the united nations about the jw's being ngo members at one time, would they reply in the affirmative on their letterhead?

  my mom thinks that just because i sent her a "scanned" copy that it is just hackers out to destroy jehovah's organization.

  doesn't this sound stupid?

  If I wrote to the United Nations about the JW's being NGO members at one time, would they reply in the affirmative on their letterhead? My Mom thinks that just because I sent her a "scanned" copy that it is just hackers out to destroy Jehovah's organization. Doesn't this sound stupid? She also told me that the United Nations, instead of attempting to destroy his Organization, would be better off trying to teach people about the Bible. Makes sense, right? <screws face up>
